We're really excited that the beer festival is returning on Saturday 27th June for our 23nd year. If you've got any burning questions regarding the day, the answers are probably below. If not, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
This is a charitable event run by a registered charity: Charlbury And Overseas Community Projects (1110285). The festival is organised and operated by local volunteers, solely to raise money for good causes. 100% of our profits are awarded as grants.
Saturday 27th June 2020 from noon until 10pm.
Charlbury Cricket Club, opposite Charlbury railway station. OX7 3QG.
We recommend getting a train to Charlbury . However, car parking available at the station as well for a small fee (cash only).
On the day, entry to the festival is £5 (free for under 18s). Beer and cider drinkers are required to purchase a glass (you will not be served without one). The glass costs £5, is yours to keep, and comes with two free tokens.
So, it's £10 for beer/cider drinkers and £5 for other adults.
We operate a token system at the beer and cider bars. Three tokens cost £5. Each token can be exchange for a half-pint of any of the refreshing beers and ciders. That's £3.33 a pint!
We do not allow alcoholic drinks to brought onto the site. This is primarily for licensing reasons but also because we are trying to raise money for local causes.
You will only be served beer and cider in the official glass. This is make sure everyone pays the right entry fee and to make sure the correct measures are served. Of course, there's nothing to stop you pouring that beer into a tankard afterwards!
Absolutely. Charlbury Beer Festival is a child-friendly, family event. Bring everyone (except pets please)!
Sorry, with the exception of assistance animals, no dogs are allowed on the site.
No parking is allowed at the cricket club. You can park across the road at the railway station for a small fee (cash only).
You will need cash to buy your entrance ticket.
The beer and cider bars operate a token system. After a successful trial last year, we will be accepting card payments to buy tokens. Note, however, that the wine and gin bars are cash only. Food vendors may take card payments but we cannot guarantee that in any way.
In an ideal world, the last glass would be poured at 9.55pm. However, it is impossible to predict demand precisely. Beers will run out through the day. The earlier you come, the more likely you are to be able to be able to choose from all the beers.
At Charlbury Beer Festival we pride ourselves on catering for everybody, including vegetarians and vegans, while also offering gluten and dairy free options.
There will also be a limited selection of vegan beers at the craft bar. However, demand can be high and these may run out quickly.
